Decorate headings, dividers, and blocks

On Linby's Basic plan, you can decorate blocks to build out your page. There are three kinds of decoration:

  • Heading decorations — add an underline, band, marker, symbols, and more to a Text block's "Heading"
  • Decorative dividers — turn a divider into a wavy line, a scalloped line, a row of stars, and more
  • Decorative frames — frame text, links, images, cards, embeds, and schedules with styles like Stitched, Washi tape, and Polaroid

This page lists every decoration you can choose. You keep your theme and add decorations block by block.

How to add a decoration

  1. 1
Tap the block you want to decorate and open the "Design" tab
  2. 2
Pick the decoration you want from the previews under "Heading decoration," "Decorative divider," or "Decorative frame"
  3. 3
To remove it, choose "None" (for dividers, "Line")

Once you pick a decoration, the "Design" tab shows only the settings that affect it. For example, decorations drawn in the accent color show "Accent color," so you can change the decoration's color.

There's one more way to frame body text: a labeled frame. On the "View" tab, choose "Body (labeled frame)," then enter the label that sits on the frame's border in "Frame label" on the "Content" tab (up to 30 characters).

Heading decorations (7)

Available when a Text block uses the "Heading" view.

  • Heading (underline)
  • Heading (lines above and below)
  • Heading (left bar)
  • Heading (band)
  • Heading (striped band)
  • Heading (marker)
  • Heading (symbols) — choose the symbol under "Symbol," and under "Placement" choose "Both sides" or "Before only"

Decorative dividers (15)

Available on the Divider block.

  • Change the line — Dotted line, Dashed line, Double line, Thick and thin lines, Short line (centered), Gradient line, Wavy line, Zigzag line, Polka-dot line, Scalloped line
  • Add symbols — Symbol in the middle, Symbol in the middle (dotted), Three symbols, Row of symbols, Row of stars

For "Symbol in the middle," "Symbol in the middle (dotted)," "Three symbols," and "Row of symbols," you can choose the symbol under "Symbol." Row of stars always uses stars.

Symbols you can use

For Heading (symbols) and the dividers that add symbols, you can choose from these 24 symbols:

♡ ♥ ★ ☆ ✦ ✧ ⋆ ✿ ❀ ♪ ♫ ◆ ◇ ● ○ ✚ ☾ ☀ ❄ ♛ ✝ ⚘ 🎀 💗

🎀 and 💗 are emoji, so their color doesn't change with your theme. All the other symbols are drawn in your theme's colors.

Decorative frames

The frames you can choose depend on the block and the view.

Where the frame goes depends on the block:

  • Link list, Image list, Linked image list, Card list — each button, photo, or card gets its own frame
  • Embed — frames can't be drawn inside the player, so they go around the outside. If a URL from an unsupported service is shown as a "tap to open" link, it gets the same frame
  • Schedule — in the List and Calendar views the frame goes around the whole block; in the Card view each entry gets its own frame. On a list, Notebook turns the dividers between entries into ruled lines. On cards, Ticket cuts notches so the date looks like a ticket stub

If you switch to a view that doesn't offer the frame you picked, the block is shown without a frame. Blocks and views not in the table (such as Profile, Form, and the Link block's "Link preview" view) can't have a decorative frame.

About plans

Decorations are available on the Basic plan.

  • Even on the Free and Lite plans, you can see how each decoration looks in the previews. Pressing a decoration marked 🔒 opens the Basic plan details
  • If you cancel the Basic plan, your public page shows the blocks without decorations. The decorations you chose are kept, so they come back when you return to Basic
  • Card, Card list, Linked image list, and Schedule are Basic plan blocks themselves. They can't be added on the Free or Lite plans, and if you cancel Basic, the whole block stops showing on your public page

When you reset to match the theme

"Reset all to match the theme" on the "Design" tab undoes tweaks like color, corner radius, and spacing. The decorations you've chosen stay. To remove a decoration, choose "None" (for dividers, "Line").

To change colors or corner radius block by block, see Adjust the design per block. To change your whole page's colors or fonts, see Choose a theme and change the design.
