Add text and headings

Linby's Text block lets you freely write what your profile alone can't convey. You can add an introduction to your work, announcements, or notes for taking requests. Used as a heading, it breaks a long page into readable sections. Free to use.

Body and heading views

The Text block lets you choose how the same input is shown (its view).

Body — shows as ordinary copy. Good for more of your bio, announcements, and notes
Heading — shows as a heading in larger type. Good for section breaks like "Profile," "News," or "About requests"

On the Basic plan, you can also decorate headings and wrap the body in a frame (see "Decorate a heading" and "Wrap the body in a frame" below).

Add text

Choose "Text" from "+ Add block" at the bottom of the page (how to add blocks)

Enter your copy on the "Content" tab. You can put up to 5,000 characters in one block

Press "Save" to apply it to your public page

To show it as a heading, choose "Heading" on the "View" tab. Headings can also be aligned (center, left, right).

Decorate a heading (Basic)

On the Basic plan, keep the "Heading" view and choose a decoration under "Heading decoration" on the "Design" tab, looking at the previews. There are 7 in all. To remove it, choose "None."

Heading (underline) — draws a line under the heading
Heading (lines above and below) — puts lines above and below the heading
Heading (left bar) — adds a vertical bar to the left of the heading
Heading (band) — lays a light band of color behind the heading, with a bar at the left edge
Heading (striped band) — lays a band of diagonal stripes behind the heading
Heading (marker) — puts color over the lower part of the text, like a highlighter
Heading (symbols) — adds symbols to the heading. On the "Design" tab, choose the symbol under "Symbol," and under "Placement" choose "Both sides" or "Before only"

Lines and bands are drawn in "Accent color" and symbols in "Accent text color," and you can change both on the "Design" tab.

Wrap the body in a frame (Basic)

On the Basic plan, you can wrap body text in a decorative frame. There are two ways.

Add a decorative frame to the body — keep the "Body" view and pick a frame under "Decorative frame" on the "Design" tab. Choose from 10 frames while looking at the previews: Dashed frame, Double frame, Stitched, Corner brackets, Offset shadow, Notebook, Grid paper, Washi tape, Speech bubble, and Scalloped. To remove it, choose "None."

Use a labeled frame — choose "Body (labeled frame)" on the "View" tab, and a label sits on the line of the frame around the body. Enter the label under "Frame label" on the "Content" tab (up to 30 characters). A short word that sums up what's inside, like "About," works well.

About Basic plan decorations

Even on the Free and Lite plans, you can see how decorations and frames marked 🔒 look in their preview tiles (try the labeled frame in the "View" tab's preview). Pressing a decoration or frame marked 🔒 opens the Basic plan details.

If you cancel the Basic plan, your public page shows a plain "Heading" or "Body" without decorations or frames. The decorations and frames you chose are kept, so they come back when you return to Basic.

Tips

Breaking up long copy with heading blocks makes it easier to read
Keeping announcements and notes in a Text block makes them easy to update
To draw a line before or after a heading, you can also use the Divider block (Separate your page with dividers)

The design (text color, size, spacing, and so on) is set by your theme. To change it, see Choose a theme and change the design.
