Facebook Bio Link: How to Add One (and Why People Still Miss It)

People call it a Facebook bio link, but Facebook keeps links in their own section — and lets you add more than one. The catch isn't how many you're allowed. It's how hard they are to find, and how little you can do with them once they're there.

Links have their own place

Your bio is the short line of text under your name. Links aren't part of it — Facebook keeps them in a separate Links section, and that's where you add them.

How to add a link

Do this in the Facebook app on your phone — the wording differs on desktop.

  1. 1
Open your profile and tap Edit profile.
  2. 2
    Scroll to Links.
  3. 3
Enter the URL and a title for it, then save.

You can add more than one, so you're not forced to pick a single destination. The trouble starts after that.

Where the link actually shows up

This is the part that surprises people. Your links aren't printed next to your name — they live inside your intro details, and on a phone that block is collapsed. A visitor has to tap to open it before a single link is visible.

The links are there. They're just one tap further away than you think, and most people don't take it.

Why your links still get missed

Each link gets a title, so people can tell them apart. That's about as far as it goes:

  • The title is a name, not a description. It's the label for the link, so a full sentence about what's in the sale and when it ends reads oddly there. There's nowhere else on the profile to put that.
  • You can't tell what people clicked. Facebook doesn't report how many people tapped each link on your profile, so you can't tell which shop or promo is actually pulling.
  • It only helps on Facebook. Every other profile you have needs its own list, kept up to date separately.

For a seller running a Shopee shop, a TikTok Shop and an order form at the same time, that last one is the daily cost. A sale starts, and you're editing the same links in three places.

Put one link in front of all of them

The usual fix is a link-in-bio page: one page holding all your links, with one URL you add to your Facebook profile.

You change that page once, and every profile pointing at it is up to date — no editing the same links in three places. The free plan shows how many people opened your page and how many taps your links got in total; if you want to see which individual link is pulling, that breakdown is on the Basic plan.

And it's a page, not a list. Set your link list to Stacked buttons and each link can carry a line of description under its label — what's in the sale, when it ends, which shop to use. You can add text and images between links, and order the whole thing yourself, so today's promo sits at the top instead of below your work history.

It also solves the same problem everywhere else. Instagram gives you up to five, and TikTok gives you one once you can add a link at all. The same URL can sit in all three profiles and stay current in all of them at once.

Link in bio for online sellers covers what to put on the page if you're selling.
