See where visitors came from (traffic sources)

On Linby, you can see a breakdown of where visitors to your public page came from. If you've put your URL on both Instagram and X, you can tell which one brings more visitors. Available on the Basic plan.

View your traffic sources

  1. 1
Open the "Home" tab in the Linby dashboard
  2. 2
In the "Traffic" section, choose the start and end dates you want to look at
  3. 3
Under "Clicks by link", "Traffic sources" lists each source with its count and share, most first

There's nothing to set up. As long as your page is public, sources are recorded automatically.

Categories

Sources are grouped into these categories.

  • Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Facebook, LINE — visits from each app or site
  • Search engines — visits from Google Search, Yahoo! Search, Bing, or DuckDuckGo
  • Other sites — visits from any site not listed above, including blogs and Google or Yahoo! services other than search (such as Gmail)
  • Direct / unknown — visits whose origin can't be determined

What counts as "Direct / unknown"

These visits count as "Direct / unknown" because their origin can't be determined.

  • The URL was typed in directly
  • The page was opened from a bookmark
  • A QR code was scanned
  • The page was opened in an app's built-in browser, and the app didn't send where the visitor came from
  • The visitor came from another Linby page (such as someone else's public page)

Some social apps don't send where the visitor came from, even when the page is opened from a profile link. In that case, a visit from that app is counted as "Direct / unknown".

When the total doesn't match your views

The total of your traffic sources may not match your views for the same period. Traffic sources started being recorded on October 13, 2026. Views before then have no source, so if your period includes earlier dates, the total will be lower.

You can see data from before you switched to Basic

Traffic sources are recorded for every page regardless of plan. When you switch to Basic, you can also see the breakdown for the period before you switched.

To measure your page in your own Google Analytics as well, see Connect Google Analytics. You can check which features are available on each plan under Pricing.
