Connect Google Analytics

You can measure your Linby public page in your own Google Analytics (GA4). Just enter your measurement ID in the Linby dashboard and the tracking tag is added to your public page — there's no need to paste a tag into the page yourself. Available on the Basic plan.

You can also check views, clicks by link, and traffic sources in the Linby dashboard (Check your views and clicks). Connecting Google Analytics lets you see your page alongside your other sites and analyze it in more detail with Google Analytics' own tools.

Find your measurement ID

In Google Analytics, set up a web data stream for your Linby page and find its measurement ID. The measurement ID starts with "G-" followed by letters and numbers (e.g. G-XXXXXXXXXX).

Only GA4 measurement IDs work on Linby. Older IDs that start with "UA-" and Google Tag Manager IDs that start with "GTM-" can't be entered.

Enter your measurement ID on Linby

  1. 1
Open the "Settings" tab in the Linby dashboard
  2. 2
Enter your measurement ID in the "Google Analytics" field
  3. 3
    Tap "Save"

Once saved, the tracking tag is added to your public page. Only your public page (linby.me/@yourname) is measured. Nothing is measured while the page is private, or in the dashboard preview.

Remove the connection

Clear the field and tap "Save" to remove the tracking tag from your public page.

What happens when you change plans

If you switch to a plan other than Basic, the tracking tag is removed from your public page. Your saved measurement ID is kept, so switching back to Basic starts measuring again with the same ID. While you're on a plan other than Basic, the field on the Settings tab can't be changed.

Why the numbers differ from Linby's

The views in the Linby dashboard and the numbers in Google Analytics won't match, because they're counted differently.

  • Linby counts each time the page is opened, without using cookies
  • Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visitors apart. Depending on browser settings or ad blockers, some visits may not be measured

Neither one is wrong. When you look at how your page is doing, compare numbers from the same side.

Effect on visitors

On a public page connected to Google Analytics, Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits. Linby itself doesn't store identifiers on visitors' devices for its own analytics.
